소니 뮤직을 대표하는 첼리스트 요요 마의 소니 데뷔 30주년을 기념하는 디럭스 박스 세트가 오는 10월 26일 전세계 동시 발매됩니다. 이번 박스 세트는 89장의 오리지날 앨범과 2장의 보너스 디스크로 구성되었으며 각각의 앨범은 모두 DSD 리마스터링을 통하여 더욱 더 선명한 음질로 재 탄생하였습니다. 그의 오랜 친구인 엠마누엘 엑스의 머리글로 시작되는 314페이지의 책자에는 그의 사진을 포함해 전 앨범의 트랙 리스트와 라이너 노트 그리고 그와 함께 했던 연주자들의 간단한 소개글과 음악 저널 리스트 리차드 다이어의 에세이가 실려 있습니다.

이거 누가 사나??

솔직히 미치지 않고서는 이거 누가 저가격에 사나?? 5만원짜리 지폐를 화장실 휴지로 쓰지 않는 이상 저걸 저각겨에 사는 사람은 거의 제정신이 아니라고 본다. 얼마나 고급스럽게 나왔을지는 모르지만 전집의 최근 추세를 역행하는 가격이다. 요요마가 위대한 첼리스트임은 인정한다. 그러자 절대 지존은 아니다. 그보다 뛰어난 서양 첼리스트는 어쩌면 쌓이고도 쌓였다. 그에게는 일정수준 이상의 음악성은 있지만 명반은 별로 찾아보기 힘들다. 예상외로 그가 90장 이상의 음반을 녹음했다는 사실에 놀란면도 있지만 그가격이 장당 만원이 넘는다는 사실은 전집의 가치를 훼손한 웃기는 마케팅이다. 음반을 사는 사람은 아무리 자기가 좋아하는 연주자라도 그런대로 잘 연주한 곡을 선별해서 산다. 그런데 형편없는 녹음과 연주가 뒤범먹이된 전곡을 누가 저런것을 장당 만원이상의 비용을 투자해서 사나? 일반적으로 현재의 크래식 박스셋의 근항을 보면 장당 5000원 미만 또는 3000원 이하까지 가겨을 책정하여 수요자를 끌어들이는 추세를 감안할때 무리하게 용마를 키우는 소니가 완전 맛탱이간것 같다. 나의 적적한 가격은 30만원이다.

필자는 음악을 정말 사랑하는 사람으로 또한 CD매니아 이다.요요마는 분명 유명한 첼리스트임은 분명하다.요즘엔 훌륭한 전집 시리즈 세트박스도 연주도 상당히 괜찮으면서도 매우 저렴하여 공부하는 학도들 또는 클래식 매니아들에게도 많이 인기가 있다.
CD매니아인 필자도 솔직히 이 음반에 욕심가는건 사실인데 가격이 보고 기절하시는 줄 알았다.96,000원이겠지 생각했는데 자세히 보니 960,000원이라는 사실보고 꼬꾸라지는줄 알았다 보고도 믿을수가 없어서 여러번 쳐다봐도..........
아무리 좋아도 저렇게 돈 백만원이면 무슨 애들 이름인가?...앞서 먼저 리뷰자의 말처럼 5만원 지폐를 화장실 휴지처럼 쓰거나 강심장 중에서도 강심장 아니면 저 음반세트를 사는건 거의 불가능(?)하지 않을까?..
요즘엔 저가 전집박스도 얼마나 잘 나오는 시대인데 뭘 믿고 저런 가격에 팔려는 소니의 의도가 참으로 신기하다.
CD 나무케이스가 삼 등분으로 나누어져 합치면 첼로악기의 형상이 이루어진다는데..첼로형상은 전혀 반갑지 않다..필자나 음악 애호가들은 첼로형상을 감상하는것보다 첼로음악을 감상하는데 더 관심이 있지 않을까?
그냥 일반 전집음반 박스형태로 압축을 하여 내 놓는것이 더 사랑스럽지 않을까 하는 생각해본다.모양도 필요없고 그냥 종이 케이스로 하고 바깥 외부는 열고닫는 두꺼운 케이스로 해서 가격을 20-30만원대로 한다면 대박나거든~~~?나도 좀 구입하게 해줘잉~~~ㅠㅠㅠㅋㅋ소니여~~제발 정신 차리길...
