2010년 2월과 9월에 실황으로 녹음된 아이브즈-브랜트의 콩코드 교향곡과 코플랜드의 오르간 교향곡은 미국 오케스트라의 힘과 독특한 정체성을 담은 주목할 만한 음반이다. 콩코드 교향곡은 도발적인 상상력이라는 점에서 아이브즈의 후계자로 불리는 헨리 브랜트가 존경하는 선배 아이브즈의 피아노 소나타 2번을 오케스트레이션한 작품으로, 무려 40여년 간에 거쳐 다듬은 ‘소명감으로 진행한 작업’이다. 깊은 감정을 폭넓게 표현한 틸슨 토머스의 해석도 생동감이 넘친다. 코플랜드의 초기작인 오르간 교향곡은 아이브즈와 묘한 대조를 이룰 뿐만 아니라 연주 자체도 색채감이 두드러지는 수연이다.
