얀 피에테르손 스베일링크(1562~1621)는 후기 르네상스와 초기 바로크에 큰 영향력을 끼친 작곡가이다. 44년 동안 암스테르담 구교회 일원이었던 그는 바흐(1685~1750)가 존경한 선배 중 한 명이기도 했다. 6장 CD에는 그가 남긴 토카타, 코랄, 판타지아, 변주곡 형식의 건반악기 독주곡들이 수록됐다. 이 형식은 바흐도 애용한 것으로, 압도적인 사운드와 전체를 구성했던 바흐와 달리 스베일링크의 작품들은 절제미와 간소함이 살아 있다. 다니엘레 보카치오는 사료들을 통해 앨범을 제작했고, 1612/13년, 1678년, 1679년 산 오르간과 하프시코드를 통해 스베일링크 시대의 악기로 고색찬란한 사운드를 들려준다. 품위와 역사적 감수성이 녹아 있는 앨범이다.
