Wiener Blut - Johann Strauss

Distinguished stars in a popular operetta: René Kollo and Ingeborg Hallstein in Wiener Blut by Johann Strauss Jr.

This operetta which plays in 1815, with everyone in Vienna for the Congress, is the story of Count Zedlau (René Kollo), Viennese ambassador, who is trying to balance his amorous liaisons

In this film-production by Hugo Wiener and Hermann Lanske from 1971, Anton Paulik conducts the Symphonie-Orchester Kurt Graunke

René Kollo and Ingeborg Hallstein is a charming couple as count and countess who enthuses his audience due to the brilliance of their voices

“73 years after the premiere of Wiener Blut – one of the best-selling operettas – it was clear from Hugo Wiener’s television adaptation that Johann Strauss’s title of Waltz King is quite justified.” (Rheinische Post)

“Contrary to operetta tradition, everything was performed wonderfully naturally and one did not just delight in the beautiful voices but also in the acting of the vivacious Helga Papouscheck, the charming and spirited Dagmar Koller and the ur-Viennese Fritz Muliar.” (TV-Nachlese)
