시벨리우스의 실내악이 비록 그의 관현악 작품에 비해 많이 알려지지 않았지만 많은 수의 작품이 작곡되어졌고, 또한 그의 음악을 거론할 때 있어서 상당히 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있다. 본 시리즈에서도 Vol.2에 다룬 것으로는 너무 부족하여 이번 Vol.9에서 다시 한번 그의 실내악을 해부하고 있다. 특히 ‘D단조 주제와 변주곡’, ‘솔로 독주를 위한 JS196', 'A장조 조곡’ 등의 미발매 레코딩과 ‘두 대의 바이올린을 위한 JS65’, ‘첼로와 피아노를 위한 JS193', 'G단조 캐논’ 등의 세계 초연 녹음 곡들이 많이 수록되어있어 그 어떤 앨범보다 가치 있고 소중하다 할 수 있다.
